Kyocera Ceramic Knives
Kyocera Ceramic Knives are the next step in knife technology. Made in Sensai, using materials from the aeronautical and automotive industries, and combining them with 21st Century technology, Kyocera have produced a range of knives, capable of keeping up with even the most difficult of tasks. Ceramic knives are low maintenance and easy to clean. As with all of our knife ranges, we would strongly recommend that you do not wash these knives in a dishwasher. High-quality knives should always be cleaned by hand, not in dishwashers. It is also recommended that the knives be used on a wooden or plastic chopping board as the ceramic is extremely hard and therefore less flexible than metal blades.
All Kyocera Knives come with a 5 year limited warranty.
Please follow the following basic instructions to avoid chipping or breaking the blade:

if the tip does break off it may be possible for the knife to be repaired
Frequently Asked Questions
*What is special about Kyocera ceramic knives? *
The lightweight zirconia blades are extremely sharp and they maintain this sharpness considerably longer than other blades.
The ceramic surface of the blade is smoother than a steel blade allowing it to cut through any food effortlessly. The knives are made of a hygienic material which is neutral to taste and cannot corrode.
Which material is the Kyocera ceramic blade made of?
Kyocera blades are made of high-grade Zirconia ceramic. This material is fired at a temperature of 1500°C for approximately 2 days in a process called sintering, and at a pressure up to 20 kilotons/square metre. This process is known as Hot Isostatic Pressing.
This basic material does find application in aerospace, automotive industry
and medical technology and was originally conceived for situations where metallic components would fail.
Is it possible to get the ceramic knife re-sharpened?
Although Kyocera knives will retain their sharp edge almost indefinitely, they may, on rare occasion, require re-sharpening. This can only be done by professionals on a diamond sharpener. Do not attempt to sharpen your knives at home
