From very modest beginnings Global has developed into one of the most successful brands of professional knives in the world. Still crafted by hand in Yoshikin’s factory in Niigata, Japan, Global knives are manufactured to extremely high and exacting standards. Global knives have attracted much acclaim over the years and received a number of awards :
1990 – Selected as a Good Design product by the Ministry of International Trade and Industry (MITI).
1991 – Introduced in the International Design Yearbook
1992 – Received the Cooking Utensil Award from the Kookguilde of the Netherlands.
1995 – Selected as best knife by the British magazine WHICH
1996 – Selected as Sharpest Knife by A La Carte Magazine in Germany
2001 – GS-29 Fish Bone Tweezers received the Design Plus Award 2001 at the Frankfurt International Trade Fair

Global Knives InformationGlobal Knives are used by the Roux brothers in their world renowned restaurants, including Le Gavroche and The Waterside Inn at Bray.
Global knives are made from the finest Cromova 18 stainless steel, ice tempered and hardened to Rockwell C56° – 58° which holds a razor sharp edge longer than any other steel and resists rust, stains and corrosion.
Like the Samurai swords before them each Global knife is carefully weighted to ensure perfect balance in the hand. The smooth contours and seamless construction eliminate food and dirt traps, offering the ultimate in safety and hygiene.
Global Knives present the The Global G-Series knives which consist mainly of large knives in various forms and shapes.
History of Global Knives
Global knives were first made in Japan in 1985. The designer Komin Yamadi was asked to produce a range of new knives in a modern design. These new Global knives were to be revolutionary in design and to be manufactured from the best materials. The range of Global knives is now very large and has won numerous awards.
